Was this gynecologist out of line or what?

Today I had to go to the gynecologist. For the past 3 years, I've been having a problem and just found out last year that it was something called cytolitic vaginitis (overgrowth of lactobacillus with a low (3.5 and under) pH). I dreaded the speculum because it REALLY hurts especially if the vagina is very acidic and when I refused it, he actually threw it into the sink and it freaked his nurse out a little bit. He then said, "Let's just do the swab", got a q-tip and just rolled it around which hurt like hell. I told him about this condition and he almost doubted that it exists. I wish I could go to this other gynecologist who was specifically a bacterial specialist and he knew everything that was going on with me, but unfortunately he developed cancer and he's dying. That made me so upset. Surprisingly, mr. I-throw-speculums-gynecologist was the one who referred me to him. When he saw that I was upset he rolled his eyes and showed no sympathy to me whatsoever. I tried to explain to him that it more than likely still is this condition but then he went onto ask me about wondering if this all was just in my head. I wanted to punch him. This just isn't fair. I told him that I wanted to hear the results and know what the pH is very soon (if it's low, it's cytolytic vaginitis). He then told me, "Ok well you can leave now".
