Are you surprised that an earth-like planet has just been discovered?

No such planet has been discovered. It is pure speculation that it even remotely resembles Earth. Get your facts straight. Just because they discovered a planet orbiting a star in what they call the goldilocks zone doesn't mean it is even close to resembling Earth.
